Who We Are
Luna -
|
Hi, my name is Luna. I have two gorgeous children who were born and raised in Scotland, UK. I moved to Scotland with my family when I was 10 years old. In the summer of 2015 I fell in love with the city of Valencia - it´s parks, historical town, nature! In Valencia I taught at various English Academies and it was where the idea for my own English Home School WINGS ON ENGLISH began.
My passion has been teaching and performing dance for the past 25 years of my life but every year i would travel abroad from Scotland and while months away from home I would teach English at language academies where i attended various private teaching methodology courses.I especially love teaching children as they are always lively, natural, spontaneous and loving. Since I was a child I remember always being very empathic and preoccupied with justice and teaching others to understand things in life which I thought were important, like caring for feelings and all living things! I used to fight the boys from my neighbourhood to protect the birds, cats, dogs and plants they were always trying to hurt. Makes me laugh when I think of it now! I am also a very active positive person who loves to laugh. I usually give 100% of me to everything I set my heart on to, embracing it all with much love. Im always searching for balance which can never be totally achieved :) still it's key to avoiding chaos and attracting happiness. I believe we are here right now to evolve, experience, learn to connect with our heart and the Light, learn to respect nature, in other words LIFE, learn to understand how to keep the harmony & balance, share and enjoy. Back in 2001, I graduated in Architecture from the University of Strathclyde with a Bachelors Degree and then continued on at the prestigious Mackintosh School of Art, for my postgraduate studies! Throughout my studies I also taught and performed dance. I coordinated a movement project for Perth's 'Cool School Project' for 5 years teaching dance/ capoeira/ movement to children at various primary schools across all of Perthshire. I then studied 1 year full-time HND Dance at Kelvin College and also taught English to adults & children of all ages & levels at professional private schools while travelling abroad in Brazil (Yazigi and CNA), then more recently at Kids&Us, Interland and Ink Formacion - Inglaterra en Casa in Valencia, Spain, where I had the best adult student attendance from all teachers at the academy! The teaching methodology courses I completed and my past 6 years teaching English experience have made me realise that my passion is more than dancing and being creatively artistic. Being in constant contact with people, sharing, teaching/ guiding and learning at the same time is very fulfilling and challenging. Working with children brings me a lot of joy too because they are open to learning, they are free to fly...and most importantly, they make me feel I am making a difference in a world where people are stripped from their human rights to breathe, smile, touch, feel, share, and freedom of expression! Understanding one's dreams and pulling the courage together to believe in oneself and fly in whichever direction that makes that person happy and fulfilled is what life is all about as long as all life here on earth and boundaries are respected to maintain the balance. |
It´s important to have fun, listen lots, keep trying and practicing always while discovering!
The more your kids are exposed to the language the more they will absorb it. BELIEVE in us! With small groups in a comfortable environment they have a much BETTER chance of trully learning English. Help open doors to their future. WINGS ON US!
Luna´s son Ahran Wynn back in 2013 reading his own summary of the story "The Fish Who Could Wish". He struggles to read his own writing but his accent is perfect and the important thing is his effort. Well done Ahran!
